Located in the state`s largest city, the Florida Community College at Jacksonville is one of several institutions within the Florida College System. It has been designated a "state college" and took it`s current name, Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ), in 1986 as part of a focal change. Originally founded in 1966 as Florida Junior College, today`s enrollment of nearly 82,000 students makes it the second largest institution of higher learning in the state.
